Veera graduated as a folk singer from the Sibelius-Academy in year 2004 and continued her studies in the Music Education Department. She leads and arranges music for her choirs in Espoo Music Institute, Folk Music Institute and multinational womens choir Kassandra. The love of runosinging and the search for possibilities of the human voice are the key elements of her vocalism. Veera´s singing can also be heard in her solo project The Descendants of the Bear , and in a all-girl nostalgic pop band Kaipuun Kukkatarha. She is also the newest member of the Suden Aika -quartet. Emilia received her M.A. in 2007 from the Folk Music Department where she also teaches. Our fiddler specializes in archaic improvisation and modern folk music. Her other projects include e.g. renowned contemporary folk music ensemble Spontaani Vire, traditional duo Juuri and Juuri with Eero Grundström, nyckelharpa – organ -duo with Ville Urponen, saame-rock band Aigi. Last November she won the second prize in solo series of Scandinavian folk competition Nord 2008 in Sweden. Roope graduates from Folk Music Department this semester. He teaches guitar, mandolin and music theory e.g. in Sibelius Academy and North Carelian AMK. In Suo he is the one who brings in the elements of modern pop music to the sounds of the Kalevala era. Our eclectic guitarist plays also in Milla Viljamaa and Co., Grupo Choramba, circus orchestra Bordurka, Finnish-British Auvo quartet and in duo with Johanna Juhola. His latest acknowledgement is an Etno-Emma prize for gypsy music group Hilja Grönfors and Latso Dzinda.
